Shalea Niles, born in Boston, MA, received her BFA in Art Education from Georgia State University (2015). As an artist, educator, holistic healer, and yoga instructor, she mostly creates drawings and paintings which open portals of conversation around the parts of the human body. The influence of Shalea’s healing yoga practice is evident in her artwork and helps her connect with her body in a more intentional way.
Niles’ work embodies the ways in which emotions take place before and during creation and invites the viewer into a portal that may facilitate their own internal healing. Her work explores the emotional, physical, and vibrational expressions of the individual parts of our bodies with the influences of everyday practices such as reading, self-care, and filling your cup with holistic and yoga practices, making connections to the Triangle of Life (being in full control of your body, mind, and spirit).
Her current practice involves piecing together a variety of mini portals to create new picture planes. She uses her discovery of human experience to navigate through the mind of creation to bring the inner experience outward. Her energy is focused on peeling the layers of creation to heal oneself. Each piece tells part of the story that forms the bigger collage of her life.
