With a strong graphic bias and using visual/verbal connections, each component fortifying, reflecting or complementing the other, the work conceptually concerns itself with social, political or cultural themes. The objective is to use appropriate materials, and spare, minimal means to give body to and express my view point on complex issues.

 Many of the pieces are submissions to my love of type, text and language, each manipulated with the goal of creating new forms that convey understandable visual/verbal relationships that expose the duplicity of language... the ironies and doublespeak, hypocrisy and innuendo conveyed through carefully parsed language, asking the question "does anyone really mean what they say?"

 Each visual poem strives to be both accessible and challenging with titling reinforcing the connection of idea, material and language.
